Breaking News – Indy event Oran Mor, Glasgow
Independence Forum Scotland and Yes United have joined forces to organise a special music and poetry event at the iconic Òran Mòr in Glasgow on Saturday 14 March 2026, starting at 6:00 pm (doors open 5:30 pm).
The evening is being arranged in association with Artists for Scottish Independence, with a view to re-energising the ‘cultural’ aspect of the Yes movement so powerfully embodied by National Collective and others in the run-up to the 2014 Referendum. It’s been a while since we all felt that kind of excitement, and we reckon it’s time to put the band back together.

Our goal is to encourage artists from all over Scotland and those abroad to do their own Indy projects that could be real world or online. In addition, providing artists for Indy and Yes groups events if a request is made.
To help artists we have created online spaces for them to hangout and network on a Community WhatsApp Group and a Community Discord server. Further, we have organisations and individuals that are providing free offers for artists. More details below.
Artists for Scottish Independence (AFI) aim to be a positive, upbeat, constructive, informal, loose, non-ideological, non-confrontational, imaginative community. #artistsforindy

Quotes from Artists on AFI Discord.
“Let’s recognise and honour the importance of Scotland’s vibrant arts community in creating a culture of creativity, cooperation and autonomy. It seems to me that if we want to have an independent Scotland, the role of the arts is crucial in preparing the ground. By supporting and encouraging each other, especially those who are underprivileged, to develop our imagination and compassion, together we can help nurture a strong Scotland of brave hearts. The arts have a key part to play in the liberation of our lands and communities.”

“Since getting together with AFI, I’ve been able to collaborate with like-minded people on new projects that feed both my creative and cultural needs. It’s great to have other creatives to bring fresh ears to even my most “out there” ideas and to build connections to make them happen.”
